Risk Assessment

This is the same as an Insurance Survey and is conducted primarily to assess the risk the underwriter will be undertaking.

Any existing condition of the vessel that will cause her to be a higher risk must be addressed.

The important issue in this type of survey is the adverse findings that should be corrected to lower the risk. It is still a Condition and Value Survey and may be conducted with the vessel afloat or dry-docked, as determined by the underwriter.
